Services

Stove installation service

We provide a complete installation service from an initial Property Survey to assess the extent of work required to ensure an appropriate stove can be installed legally and safely,  to flue and chimney work, fitting cowls and birdguards, removing existing fireplaces / stoves, alterations to existing fireplaces, fitting new stoves, rebuilding and making good fireplaces and fitting new hearths.

We are very flexible in our approach to help you get the finished style you want.

We will also install stoves purchased from other suppliers, provided that they meet the CE quality standards and have been tested by HETAS. However, we would be unable to offer the exceptional warranty periods (up to 10 years) which we can offer with a number of our products.

As qualified HETAS installers, we make sure your complete installation is safe, fully tested and meets Scottish Building Regulations and HETAS standards – very important for the validity of your house insurance.

Boiler installation service

As approved dealers for Perge, Windhager and HDG, we are able to offer boilers to suit your exact requirements, whether it be burning pellets, logs or wood chips. Many of our boilers qualify for grant funding (up to £4,000) and VAT is charged at just 5% on complete installations.

Sizing of your boiler requires a site survey and about 2 hours of your time to discuss location, storage, access considerations as well as a complete measure of your property in order to assess the heating and hot water load. Like any heating system, there is a lot to consider and we are here to help you work through the options. We understand that a new heating system is not a decision you make on the spot and so we are happy to help you wilth information and advice.

Stove and boiler servicing

Whether it is your stove or your boiler, annual servicing is equally important to keep your appliance working at optimum efficiency.  A well serviced appliance will burn less fuel and save you money.  For example, a simple air leak around a door glass seal on a stove can prevent you from shutting the fire down as much as you could and will result in fuel being burnt unnecessarily.

Any leaks around the flue complonents (which can happen with time) can cause flue gas to leak into the room and be potentially dangerous.

These are the sorts of checks which are carried out during an annual service.  The small cost of the service is likely to be re-couped within the year due to improved burning efficiency and hence less fuel used.  And besides, it gives you peace of mind that your appliance is safe.

Once we have serviced your appliance, we guarantee our work for 12 months.  Contact us to arrange a service visit.
